Women’s Studies has three full-time staff members who manage the administrative functions of the Department and Program.

 Robert Burgard, rburgard@umd.edu
Robert Burgard is the Administrative Assistant in the Department of Women’s Studies. He worked as the graduate assistant for the Maryland Cybersecurity Center and the Department of English while completing his degree. He has experience working in both university and high school settings with a diverse range of students.

Gwen Warman, gwarman@umd.edu
Gwen Warman is the Academic Coordinator and Undergraduate Advisor in the Department of Women’s Studies. Before joining the Department she supported UMD students and faculty as the Coordinator for the Biological Sciences Graduate Program. Gwen is an alumna of the University of Maryland, College Park with a B.A. in Women’s Studies and a UMD Scholars certificate in Media, Self, and Society. She also holds an M.A. in Gender/Cultural Studies and an M.S. in Communication Management, both from Simmons College in Boston, MA.

Catalina Toala Catalina Toala, ctoala@umd.edu
Catalina Toala is the Business Manager in the Department of Women’s Studies. She has been with the University of Maryland for 20 years, spending the last 17 as the Director of Finance, Budget, and Human Resources in the Department of History. She comes to us with deep and wide knowledge of the University operations and an extraordinary reputation across campus. Originally from Bogota, Catalina is both international and a native Spanish speaker.
