Women’s Studies has three full-time staff members who manage the administrative functions of the Department and Program.
Cliffornia Royals Pryor Cliffornia Royals Pryor,
Cliffornia Pryor is the Program Administrative Specialist for the Women’s Studies Department. She has been employed with the University, in the Women’s Studies Department since 2004. Ms. Pryor is responsible for assisting the Graduate Director with management of graduate program admissions, the graduate student review process, as well as providing administrative clerical support for our faculty members and graduate students. She has a BS in Psychology from the University Maryland University College. Ms. Pryor says, “working with the Women’s Studies Department has been a motivating and empowering force in my life, an experience I will cherish for a lifetime.”

JV Sapinoso JV Sapinoso,
JV Sapinoso is Assistant Director and Undergraduate Advisor in the Department of Women’s Studies. Previously he served as Assistant Director of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Studies Program at UMD. He has a PhD in Women’s Studies from the University of Maryland, where his dissertation focused on formulating a queer Asian American critique, inspired by his experiences as a Philippine-born, California raised, U.S. naturalized queer trans feminist.

Catalina Toala Catalina Toala,
Catalina Toala is the Business Manager in the Department of Women’s Studies. She has been with the University of Maryland for 20 years, spending the last 17 as the Director of Finance, Budget, and Human Resources in the Department of History. She comes to us with deep and wide knowledge of the University operations and an extraordinary reputation across campus. Originally from Bogota, Catalina is both international and a native Spanish speaker.
